Ralph D. House Community Park
Le Conte Mini Park was officially named the Ralph D. House Community Park in December 2010, members of the Association worked to have the park site named after the late Ralph D. House, the founder of the Bayview Hill Neighborhood Association. Since then neighbors have worked to clear the site of debris and have made a home for an eclectic mix of plants and outdoor furniture. The Association has applied to San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department for a capital grant that would provide grading, water, power to improve accessibility and utilization of the park.
Our ultimate goal is to transform three abandoned open spaces in the Bayview district into connected community space beneficial to all. We envision a local community park system that pays respect to the area’s culture and history, that provides a gathering place for residents and that serves as a connecter to the larger open-space natural areas in the Bayview Hill area of San Francisco.
